The Archos is a DVR - that’s a Digital Video Recorder. It means that not only does it play back recorded shows, it actually records them as well. The AV 700 can record direct from your TV, DVD player, VCR, cable or sastellite box. With 100GB of storage, you can store up to 400hours of video (that’s about 250 movies!)! No more fuddling around with discs when a movie ends. Time to retire the old DVD recorder…
It can also act as your portable photo album. You can dowload photos off your camera directly via USB 2.0. You can also connect to your PC or Mac to transfer data. And, you get a TV output so that you can watch shows on your big screen TV instead of the 7″ screen.
There is more - it also plays music. Supported formats are MP3, WAV, WMA and protected WMA. Songs can be organised via the ARCLibrary and you can customize the screen per song played - without connecting to an external computer.
The AV 700 also features the Mophun gaming engine and you can download and purchase games from the Archos website.
