Hidden Cameras - Meet Spyfinder!
Tuesday, June 6th, 2006
In this age of overloaded hormones, overzealous politicians and [tag]miniaturization[/tag] of technology, any Tom, Dick and Harry can easily get their hands on a [tag]miniature camera[/tag] and stick it where it don’t belong. Victims usually end up on the wrong end of a blackmail or on a dirty website.
Time to bring in the James Bond of the spycamera world - its name: Spyfinder.
[tag]Spyfinder[/tag] is a [tag]hidden camera[/tag] detector that will weed out unwanted prying eyes from your private space. Being of small size (4.5″ x 1.5″ x 0.75″), the Spyfinder is very portable so you can take it anywhere you go. Now you can check into a hotel room and have peace of mind after a quick scan.
How does it work? Well, Spyfinder has this viewport that you look into while doing your scanning. Then by activating its ring of ultra-bright LEDs arranged around the viewport, Spyfinder takes advantage of the optical augmentation principle - whereby light that is reflected from a focused optical system is reflected along the same path as the incident light. In simpler terms this means that when you activate Spyfinder and look through viewport, any hidden cameras within your field of view will appear brightly illuminated.
I smell a slight catch though. Spyfinder is a recently de-classified government technology. You could say that this would mean that the world of spying has stepped up a notch in terms of video espionage - so if you are to be spied on by professionals, I am guessing that Spyfinder will be no help at all.
But to weed out your spying in-laws, cousins etc., would be a cinch with this pocket James Bond. Plus, it’s just such a cool thing to show off! I gotta have one!
