Bill Gates Quits Microsoft
Friday, June 16th, 2006
That’s right. Seems that [tag]Bill Gates[/tag] will progressiveley move out from the day-to-day running of Microsoft to spend more time doing charity stuff at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. [tag]Microsoft[/tag] announced a 2-year transition to ensure a smooth handing over of Bill Gates’ daily responsibilities. After that, Bill will still be around as Microsoft’s chairman and advisor on key development projects.
Ray Ozzie will assume immediate responsibility as chief software architect while Craig Mundie will assume immediate responsibility as chief research and strategy officer. Craig Mundie will also partner Brad Smith to guide Microsoft’s intellectual property and technology policy efforts.
Steve Ballmer is the new president of Microsoft.
