Wireless RF Remote Extender

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Wireless RF Remote ExtenderRemote controls must be one of the inventions of the century. You can still remain seated in your favourite seat and flip channels, change the volume and all that.

But then everything started to have a remote control, and functions started to be remote control exclusive. For that, one needs a universal remote to tidy things up.

Then there is that annoying thing that you need to have line of sight because most remotes are infrared (IR) based. That means it uses infrared light pulses to transmit instructions to a gadget. It gets a bit frustrating when your favourite seating angle is just that bit off from an ideal line of sight for your remote.

This RF Extender promises to make that all go away. What it does is it converts your existing IR remote into on that operates using radio frequency (hence the RF). The nice thing about RF is that you don’t need to have line of sight - or be in the same room for that matter!
