McDonald’s Promotion Has Worms!

McDonald’s Japan ran a promotion in August and gave away 10,000 MP3 players to the lucky winners. Turns out that they were not so lucky since the MP3 players came with worms!
The winners were told that their players were infected with the WORM_QQPASS.ADH worm which can steal personal data if activated by plugging the player into a PC. McDonald’s is offering a link to a Trend Micro program that can remove the worm from infected computers, and is replacing the MP3 players on request.
Few infections have been reported so far. Maybe most of the winners have no idea what a worm is…
